Went to see the Specialist in Tampa again
Just got back from Tampa where I was seeing a specialist for my spinal injury and nerve issues. It was mostly a good visit. Doctor said that I am doing very well and am doing everything that I possibly can to maintain and slow down any decline. He does want me to start water therapy in a heated pool immediately which I have been trying to get into for a month anyway. He did want me to undergo ketamine therapy which I am turning down for the time being since it is very risky and mainly used for people that are completely debilitated and have exhausted all other options. About the only thing of note is that I will be having to get braces for my knees and ankles very soon. Have had a couple of falls and nearly bashed my head against the corner of the bathroom sink a few weeks ago (yes it scared me) so I knew that this was coming. These should hopefully help with my stability and mobility. No one in my family have worn braces before so this is going to be a new thing for all of us.

My Recumbent Trike
My recumbent trike that I bought some time back. It is great to be able to ride again. It is great exercise and has greatly helped to maintain some of my functioning and muscles in my legs. I just slide my crutches in behind the seat and ride until I can't ride any longer.
I had to have a pizza or I was going to DIE!!!!! It was only after I got back to my dorm that I saw why I was getting strange and humorous looks the whole way back from the cafeteria. I looked way to much like a pizza delivery guy. At least I got my pizza. will have to do this again.

Inheritance!!!!!
Finally book 4 is out! To make it even better this is a first edition autographed copy. I love this series so I wonder what this writer will come up with next.
Me and my Guitar
While dealing with my spinal injury there were many different things that I realized and was told by doctors that I would not be able to do any more. Things such as skating, rock climbing, backpacking through mountains, racing sailboats, and martial arts were things that I somehow had to learn to let go. While I loved doing these and many other things I have had to accept that these things are gone forever. Instead of focusing on what I have lost I have been trying to focus on new things that I can now try in place of what I have lost. While this is easier said than done it is something that has to be done. One of the most important things that I did was pick music back up. While I played music all through school I let it go after graduating high school. One thing that I never had the time to do while playing music in school was pick up playing string instruments such as the guitar. Some months after being injured I was bored out of my mind and obviously somewhat depressed so I decided to get a guitar, take lessons, and start playing. While I admit that I am not the best guitar player in the world I have to admit that it has helped to fill some of the new gaps in my life and has led me to learning other instruments. If anyone needs to learn a hobby that will follow them throughout life the guitar is one that I would recommend to everyone from the youngest child to the adult. Music is definitely a great thing for anyone with a disability to learn and I would encourage everyone with a disability that is able to try it to do so.
